Schiphol Amsterdam Airport – Amsterdam Central Station
Train from Schiphol Amsterdam Airport to Amsterdam Central Station (Amsterdam CS). Train tickets cost € 3.80 and are available from the yellow ticket machines near the platforms at Schiphol Plaza. The machines only accept Euro coins! Tickets are also available from the ticket offices, which are situated close to the red/white-checked cube at Schiphol Plaza. Staff at the ticket offices will also be able to provide you with train departure information. The travel time is 15 – 20 minutes. Recommended!
Taxi from Schiphol Amsterdam Airport to the hotel. € 35 – € 40. Some taxis have a fixed tariff, ask! The travel time is approximately 20 minutes.
Amsterdam Central Station – Nikhef
A taxi to Nikhef will cost approximately € 15 – € 20. A cheaper (and faster) alternative is to take a train from Amsterdam Central Station to Amsterdam Science Park. Tickets cost € 2.20 and are available from the yellow ticket machines. The travel time is about 8 minutes.
If you take the train to Station Amsterdam Science Park, turn left when exiting the station. Then proceed under the railway, throught the tunnel, cross the road at the intersection and turn left at the entrance to Science Park. The Turing conference room is to your right in the CWI building, just before the underpass.
Cycling to Nikhef
In many hotels it is possible to rent a bicycle. This is a very cheap and good way to travel between your hotel and the meeting venue. Amsterdam is a bicycle-friendly city!
